Spiders in Deming, NM

Here is one of the photos Elder Rex sent us.

Another letter from Elder Rex Warner

Dear Family,

The Labatos came to church for the second time in a row. We have been working very hard with the father Celistino and he is doing amazing. Unfortunately we have handed them off to the Spanish Brach because Celistino speaks way more Spanish then English. It will be hard to just stop seeing them but so is mission life. We are just over exited to see how much they have grown as a family and how much the Spirit works with people after all you can do. (2 Nephi 25:23)

That’s crazy that Ryan is home. I try not to think about it, but its crazy. Time flies by soooooooooo fast. Brenda Jacobs went into the Hospital again on Sat. her heath hasn’t been all that great. But its hard to sympathize with her, when you open up the fridge its full of Dr. Pepper and Pepsi and she always has doughnuts for us, so yeah she doesn’t eat all that great. We where able to teach her a ton though so as soon as she gets her heath all squared away she will be able to be baptized.

I was reading in my Journal about my first transfer and it really got me pumped up. Elder Sargeant and I have set some great goals this week and it will be great to work our tails off. We have been finding a lot of people though are members which is the best because it is a lot more easy to get retune appointments that are actually there when you show up to teach them more then just the first lesson.

The Great American Duck Races are this week and so I will send you some fun photos next week. You should Goggle Deming Great American Duck Races I’m sure you will get a kick out of all the stuff they do. Events include a Carnival, The Great American Tortilla Toss, The Great American Outhouse races and off course the Great American Duck race itself. It will be a pretty Great American active weekend all around. Dad you would enjoy it because you famous line, "that’s not American" will be used for everything that doesn’t involve the Great American Duck races in Deming.

Also we are going to hike Red Mountain today which is really green mountain then go and eat some great Mexican Food with the Spanish Elders.

Love,
Elder Warner

Elder Warner's News

Dear Family,

Sorry for the ingrown toenail scare. But seriously its not that big of a deal it just looks grouse so I sent you some photos. This past week has been crazy. I was in Silver City on an exchange with Elder Polson and elder I took out in Tucson for a night when he was first a missionary. So that was fun, we got dumped on with this crazy thunderstorm and my toe got all wet, the doctor wasn’t too happy. But oh well. Then I was taking some antibiotic and I got really dizzy and my stomach was like “Ah, like what’s going on!” so it kind of ruined a few hours of prosiliding. Then with all this green stuff growing everywhere my allergies kicked my trash. So lets just say this week has been crazy.

Some good news though, a part-member family we have been working with the Labotos all came to church. Florinca who has a baptismal date for this sat came to church twice, once in Spanish and once in English. I’m not too sure that she will be baptized this week because unfortunately her father wants to be baptized now and he wants all the family to do it at the same time. (I hope you picked up the sarcasm in my last sentence) So yeah that’s great! Then are Brenda Jacobs came to church for her fist time and just loved it. She was tickled pink when I told her that she could meet my whole family when they come through town. She said she was so happy she almost cried.

So that’s it I have to go but I love you all and hope you are all doing great.

Love,
Elder Warner
